While the progressive development of musical techniques/skills (i.e. Accuracy, Tone, Expressiveness, Ensemble Playing) is key to our MIP, the MIP also seeks to play an active role in the nurturance of Critical Inventive Thinking.

MFPS pupils, take on creativity tasks (e.g. Improvisation, composition) to hone their creativity.

The exposure to various cultures through the MIP repertoire, we expose our pupils to other cultures and perspectives. We teach our pupils teamwork through the experience of instrumental ensemble work, allowing them to experience in a tactile manner, the workings of team. In the 6-year curriculum, each pupil is also introduced to multiple forms of musical expressions like Cajon, Guitar, Orff instruments, Recorder and Voice.

The MIP is augmented by other extended learning experiences (i.e. Assembly Programmes).

Through the MIP, pupils who are talented are channeled to relevant CCAs.
