Environmental issues are becoming increasingly important worldwide and we have a duty to do our bit to protect our future by being as 'green' as possible. As we mature as a nation, we must realise the impact we have on the environment and what we can do to keep carbon emissions to a minimum. Just as we have a duty to implement sustainable solutions, we also have a duty to pass this important message to the next generation - our students.

By adapting our actions accordingly, we do our share to save the planet and protect the environment. Our Eco Rangers Club aims to give opportunities to its member to participate in activities that allow them to exemplify themselves as Empowered Learners and Empathetic Leaders. The fun and enjoyable activities, projects and competitions provide a platform for the Rangers to be engaged firsthand in raising environmental awareness in school and at home.

The annual Singapore World Water Day (SWWD) celebration provides opportunities for our Rangers to bring about awareness about the importance of saving water and what roles the MFPS community can play to help achieve this goal. The Rangers put up skits during assembly programmes and prepare presentations to share to the rest of the school. In addition, they also carry out water rationing exercises during recess, to emphasize how a world with limited water supply would be like. Our teachers support this annual commemoration by dressing up in Blue too!

Our Rangers also learn the importance of food safety through their CCA lessons. They are introduced to alternative methods to growing food through methods such as hydroponics and try their hands at planting seedlings to grow their own vegetables. Once grown the Rangers taste their success by harvesting the vegetables and not only do they bring it home, they also share the results of their hard work with others by helping to distribute the extra vegetables.
